unable to add a secondary (extended) monitor

    hi,
so i recently bought a dell monitor and i tried using a splitter cable, which worked but it was the same screen which was not the desired outcome.
so i bought [New Galaxy GeForce 8400 GS 512 MB DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 DVI/VGA Graphics Card] and installed in my pc. now both video cards work fine individually but when i try using both to extend my screen windows doesnt detect the secoundary monitor (which is conneceted to the first video card that i had)
    what should i do?
    thanks

Both monitors must be plugged into one card and the two cards need to be SLi'd or Crossfire connected with the bridge.

dont think you can sli that card. what are your system specs?.
as for extending the screen, as has been said, both connections need to be on one card, then in screen resolution(right click) change the drop downbox to extended and apply.

No, all that is required is that both cards are installed and operating properly.
If windows detects both cards, then all you do is go to display properties and click on the greyed out screen then select Extend desktop to this display.

    This is my old setup,
Gtx285 ran the middle screen while a 9600gt ran the left and right screens.

My current 6950 card runs all 3 of my monitors now.

Hopefully that will work, didn't realize two cards could both be recognized as my bios wants one primary.
