    Radeon6770/ Intel 3000 drivers help ????

have a problem with my DV 7 6080 which uses Radeon6770/ Intel 3000!

I bought this laptop second hand and when i start using it all seemed fine.. I played games like nba 2k12 without problems and after playing for an hour the max. temp would reach like 80C so that was good. But when playing gta IV on lower settings the temp was very high so i decided to install some driver updates... Thats where i messed up and not really beeing an expert in this area should have made a back-up since i dont have any CD or partition left....
Anyways after updating drivers i first had an issue with the blue screen and had to restart the laptop is safe mode. After that i uninstalled the drivers ( i dont remember which i installed ) but then i of course needed some drivers again. So i decided to install all the drivers again using driversweeper and so on....
After trying many different drivers and Catalysts the problem remains.... THE STRANGE THING THAT HAPPEND IS THAT NOW MY CATALYST WORKS AND I CAN SWITCH GRAPHIC MODES BY RIGHT CLICKING ON MY DESKTOP AS NORMALLY YOU SHOULD DO IN THE 6000 SERIES SO I USE THE AMD GPU RATHER THEN INTEL. SO EVERYTHING SHOULD BE FINE BUT WHAT HAPPENED IS THAT MY DESKTOP FONTS LOOK SMALLER AND WHEN I ENTER NBA 2K12 IN THE BEGINNING ALL SEEMS OK BUT THEN I SEE SMALL HORIZONTAL LINES IN THE SCREEN, it blinks a bitt, AND ALSO IT BECOMES AROUND 85 c AFTER 5 MINUTES OF PLAYING SO THEN IS STOP PLAYING...

I tried everything from reinstalling all drivers with sweeper and CC cleaner and so from using the catalyst by leshcat... right now everything is working and the computer indicates that both my radeon 6770 and intel are working but when i watch a youtube clip on 1080 it looks like my radeon is not beeing used and the graphics look rather bad....
when i check my monitor it indicates 1600x 900 using the radeon so what could be wrong ???

    PLEASE HEEEEEELP ???

any other way to get my drivers back to the factory ones without having to buy a cd which can 2 weeks ??

First off, 80 - 85C is horrific. Laptops can generally run a little hotter than desktops but you're still into the amber there.

When watching youtube though, right-click on the video and go to Settings. Check the box for Use Hardware Acceleration.

thank you for your quick reply !!
I dont think the problem is only youtube.... i tried this with checking the box in youtube and i see now difference... It almost looks as if my laptop is using the INTEL 3000 card instead of my radeon 6770 while when i look in my device manager it recognising my Radeon and also i activated it in My catalyst ... the strange thing is also that my fonts and everything else started too look a little bit smaller on by desktop.. Now this is a problem i dont really care about but the problem is playing games... which before i could do very well ( even gta iv )
    Any ideas ??

Icons appearing smaller usually just means your screen resolution has increased. If you don't like, it can be easily changed back by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting Screen Resolution, then just drag the slider down.

i understand your point oxy but this isnt the problem.... im totally fine with the resolution. I just tell you this to maybe point out what the problem might be with my games underperforming and youtube clips looking worse then before... it seems as if my laptop uses the intel 3000 instead of the radeon 6770 ???

Can you access your laptop's BIOS and check that the radeon is set to be the primary graphics adapter?

Chances are you won't find anything to do with it, tends to be on desktops more.

6770m not working in dv6t 6000 quad edition

It seems that these laptops use Windows power schemes to regulate which chip is used to drive applications. Set an application to use the high performance profile and it will utilise the Radeon; conversely set an application to power saving and it will use the Intel.

Try experimenting with this and let me know how it goes.

    thank you oxymoron...
i have been trying this and also i have selected the high performance schedule and tried different onces...
Over the last week ive been reading on different forums around 30 hours about what the problem could be :)
Many people have had problems with the ATI/INTEL switchable graphics but the DV7 60xx series have fixed graphics and they cant be changed in the bios. The way to change them is through the desktop by pressings right mouse button and it should come up switchable graphics which i did change but no effect
Any ideas what i could do ??

I'm afraid I'm out of ideas, unless you contact HP about it, though all the people saying HP don't have a clue does not make it seem like they'll be able to help.

It would have helped to say before what you'd tried already.
