mmm i discovered one thing... when i look into my devicemanger that both my INTEL and RADEON 6770 are using the same driverversion which is the one on the HP website ?? could that be the problem or ?? this is what it says about the driver im using on the HP website... do i need the other INTEL driver then ??? im confused :)

This package provides the AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver and Catalyst Control Center for supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. For notebooks with switchable graphics modes, this package includes drivers for both graphics processing units (GPUs). Switchable graphics enable users to switch between a power-saving graphics mode (normally used under battery power) and a high-performance graphics mode. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

This is a pretty old driver.

All the other recent threads dealing with "switchable graphics" all talk about the goodness of applying the latest 12.8 Catalyst drivers from the ATI site, rather than getting the 12.3 driver package from the HP site.

Well I don't know what to say. If those notes are from the 12.8 driver description it would seem to be in direct contradiction with the vehement instructions in this other similar thread.

I had tried to help there too, and found that on the HP support site they'd provided a specific download link to a "dual/switchable graphics driver" for the onboard Intel graphics as well as the optional HD7670M. The driver on the HP site was explicitly described as having proper drivers for BOTH Intel and ATI.

However somebody else who was also posting on the thread insisted that the HP-provided driver package was terrible, and caused awful results. He swore by downloading the straight ATI 12.8 driver. There was no mention of being incompatible with "notebooks with switchable graphics".

Have you investigated the HP site to make use of what they provide as the latest driver package for your machine?
