    Distorted display

    Hey.
Um I got windows 7 Build 7600 running fine on my dell laptop.

But every now and again (especially when changing programs opened as in minimising etc.) I get a distorted picture, if i put my mouse over it it goes away. but its getting quite annoying.

I have managed to get a print screen of it (attached below)

    I am running Mobile Intel (R) 4 Express Family Chipset. Resolution @ 1280 x 800.

    Has this been resolved?

I experience the very same issue. It seems to be random and sometimes only effects certain areas of the screen. Most often, it's the window's title bar and minimize/maximize/close buttons which are scrambled.

There are also horizontal lines (like children's ruled paper) through the title bar and url fields. I've downloaded windows updates and (what I think) are the updates for the video drivers with no change to the display.

    Any help would be appreciated.

You may be overtaxing your video card. You might want to turn off Areo and see if it makes a difference. Fabe

    Hello,

Thank you for the suggestion. I had tried that already with no improvement.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION: If anyone else is having this issue...Since my last post, I have re-installed the XP drivers for the display. I have limited resolution options but at least the screen has been clear.

...Also a point of interest about this glitch is that 1024x768 works well using the XP drivers...but does not fit the screen properly and stretches the text/images (in addition to the artifacts) when I was using the Win7 drivers. I played with the stretching screen options with no joy.

all sorted now, though! good ol' XP!

Solved this on my dell latitude xt2

Had the same problem with windows7 and the graphics driver downloaded from dell. Uninstalled it, since it would not allow a manual update with the windows 7 driver provided by intel (it always claims the driver is already up to date, even so the dell driver is much older than the intel driver). After a restart I could finally install the newest intel driver. No more distortions ever since.
