    ThinkPad R51 2887-K2G problem with graphic card


    Hi all,

    I've searched yet in official lenovo drivers pages for video card driver but they not have driver for Vista because it is included in. I tried to download win XP driver and run it in win XP compatibility mode but it not works ...says that it cant find that hardware... where can be a problem??

    My PC: ThinkPad R51 type: 2887 model: K2G

    Can you be more specific about the graphics card?

    IBM sells this model with different configurations, so we need to know if the card is either Intel, Nvidia or ATI.
    And which model?

    it was ATI but i dont know how can I see what model it is... help please anyway many thanks for fast reply!

    i've found that model by hwinfo it was Intel i852GM integrated...

    Are you sure about that? Not ATI ?

    i852GM is quite an old card and as far as I know there is no driver for it that will work, and there will never be one.

    In this case I would recommend going back to Vista or buy a new laptop.

    If it is a ATI card, you might stand a chance with XP driver rather than Vista driver.

    You should search for XP driver from around the yr 2004-2005.

    This is because those drivers still contain your old card in their .inf file, while later versions don't.

    hmm maybe I turn back to Win XP... graphic card is important for me- photoshop...
