hi,

please post your pc specs...
We need to know at least the model of your graphics card which you have to help you.

It seems that your Intel Integrated Graphics Card is not supported anymore by Intel, and Windows 7 drivers doesn't exist.
You should try to install Windows XP drivers.

The only driver available for that old Intel 915 graphics is the last XP driver. You won't get Aero as it is missing the necessary hardware, but it should at least be detect properly.

Yeah -- Google your compaq PC with model number and the word "driver" -- and it will give you a page for that PC with driver downloads. Under Driver - Graphics, select the Intel 915GM Graphics Driver and download the file. This will be an .exe file -- self-expanding archive. Save that file.

Run the saved file and it will expand. There should be a setup.exe file in there. If so, run that as Administrator -- but choose Windows XP compatibility mode -- as this is an XP driver, not Windows 7.
