can you run a GTX 670 on a 650W power supply?

As long as it is a good quality one, yes. Wouldn't chance it on some of the no-name low quality PSU's though.

Yes, it only requires a 500-watt power supply with 2 x 6-pin power connectors.

As mentioned, 650W Power supply doesnt say much.

A good quality one, such as Seasonic, Antec Corsair ...
YES. No issue.
In fact, The higher end PSUs such as Corsair AX 650 and Seasonic X 650s will run 2 of them in SLI without issue.


A offbrand 650 may not truly be 650. That 650W lablemay be refering to its peak, MAX power in which it can may not be able to sustain for any length of time.
Or, it has the wattage, but will fail to deliver the amperage needed for the GPu and rest of the system combined. Those type of PSU may or may not have a issue running a single card such as the 670.

Its hard to really say without knowing what unit we are talking about.


Having said that, generally speaking, a decent 650W should not have a problem.
