Error with my graphics, long story

A week ago, my little brother somehow broke out the video input That thing but in blue - from the motherboard. So, we got a computer guy to repair it. He did, but he installed a whole new graphics card. Before, my PC looked normal and had a resolution of 1028x720. He installed a new card called "SIS True Color 16 bit" or something like that. Whenever I boot up the system, that's what first comes up. Now my PC looks all grainy, aero's gone, I'm forced to make my resolution 800x600. (Check in the attachments how it looks like) I've spoken to the computer guy, he told me to get a new monitor. We've tested out many monitors of ours and even he gave his own to try out - it's still a grainy image. is the current monitor. We've tried 25 inch monitors, nothing comes up.. Can somebody help me? I've also attempted to download the drivers, I get an error. Can someone help me to get back Aero, and atleast my regular image?

This should have been disabled in the bios when installing a new graphics card (if that is actually what was done.)

i cannot seem to find that. check the attachments, that's what it looks like

never mind, i updated the standard VGA driver, now it shows in display adapters, what next?

If he installed a Graphics card windows should have picked it up.

probably a discrete graphics card. what do you mean by windows should've picked it up? when i boot the system, it shows SIS True Color 16 bit... and the SIS logo.

They make graphics chips but they are built into the motherboard.

I would continue checking optional updates it's possible you will find even more there now.
As for losing aero, yes, if it is SIS it can't handle aero.

So I should keep on going to SIS's site and check updates?

I am pretty sure he meant optional updates in windows.

If you don't know how to check for them, go to control panel, windows updates and check for updates, then have a look if it comes up with any optional ones.

aLL OF THEM say "Update for Windows 7 " and I've got 10 of them, and they don't seem graphic related, should i waste time doing em anyways?
