Cannot install Catalyst control Center on Windows 7 64bit

    Hi there,

I recently noticed that my CCC was not working so I decided to update the drivers.

I uninstalled the old drivers and installed the newest ones which came from the AMD website.

However upon trying to install it only gives me the options to install the following

    - Catalyst Install Manager
    - AMD APP SDK Runtime
    - Microsoft Visual C++

So no option for CCC or any other necessary files.

I've since tried to reinstall the previous version I had with the same result so it's not a compatibility issue.

I have also tried the "Public Key Token" fix but I had no keys with the corresponding number.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Sam

This might be one of those rare cases where using a driver scrubbing app is called for.
Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling

You can download the most recent version of driver sweeper from that forum thread.
Have it remove all the amd display related stuff.
Then try a fresh install with the latest version again.

If you don't have the public key token you don't suffer from that specific problem. So we can just move on from that.

I downloaded Driver sweeper and cleaned off everything AMD related and still no luck.

The only other thing that CCC depends on that comes to mind is the .net framework.
Checking for updates for it in windows update is about all I have left.

Oh and making sure this isn't just a side effect of something else gone screwy.

After doing the analyze and clean with Driver sweeper which you suggested, I tried to install my older, 12.4 version of CCC which worked fine.

There is a long history of incompatibility with ATI drivers for HP Laptops.

    Thanks for the help
