Also a friend of mine told me that GTX 470 have a really high ..."Death" rate or whatever its called. IS that true? I dont want it dying on me anytime soon. And i wont or rather cant overclock in anyway.
it probably depends from the card's manufacter...
Probally cause of the power usage and weak compacitors that could shorten cards in a instant i would just go with the 6870 but then again anything can happen nothing last forever
If you have already ordered it and have a warrenty then it doesn't matter if it frys or not most of the time it frys after the warrenty is over anyway maybe a handfull of times if any people had to do RMA before the warrenty was up so just keep in mind keep your paper work together and you should be ok
when ever buying anything always keep all reciepts and paper work it is what keeps you from spending more then you have too
Actually i got the GPU today. Looked really nice, sturdy you know. Then i plugged it in and nothing. Called the customer service people, they told me to try a few things but nothing worked so about an hour ago,i returned it. I only had to pay for return shipment which wasnt that much. Will find a 6870 hopefully. Or might get the 560 2GB one if my budget increases.
That sucks if you didnt live so far i could have sold you one of my 6870's but I already got rid of it and keeping the other one as a back up also have a 5770 too but it is in my back up rig im going to end up swapping the card out for the 6870 and give the 5770 to my dad lol
Im trying to scale back all these parts i got plus i might build another fx rig because i still have a 8120 and will give it to my nephew for a gift or something
And my budget might be increasing in a few days so i have some new options to consider as well.
ATI HD 6950 2GB one
or Galaxy GTX 560 2GB. (NOT ti version)
Which one is better?
The 6950 is a bit more expensive.
the HD 6950 2GB is faster than the Galaxy GTX 560 non-Ti 2GB.
Go for the HD 6950
