Hey, even I meant nothing. I know this website for long, and respect and love everything about it.
The psu I bought was of Zebronics ZEB-450W (DSATA), 20+4 PIN - Power Supplies - Economy Series - Zebronics - Always Ahead - Largest Range of Peripherals
I see no specs for that PSU at the Zebronics link, or anywhere else. That doesn't bode well.

Did you notice the current rating at +12V on the label? If the total current on the +12V rails is much less than 30A, it's probably junk.

thanks everybody. I'm planning to change my psu. may be to corsair vs450. I dont think i'll be able to buy something of 650W, way out of my budget. any other suggestion would be deeply appreciated.

I would pretty much say it is that power supply, they have various issues with not being able to supply constant power to it, also by looking at the unit it has no real heat management, so I would say it is overheating as well.

@tlarseth : if it is heating issues, what do you suggest? I install one more cabinet fan inside it? or anything else?

If it is a PSU over heating issue, if there is two open sides opposite of each other, you can try a fan blowing in one vent and blowing away from the other, creating a wind tunnel effect, you can also upgrade to a better quality PSU, but I assume that is out of the question since you bought a low end one, I assumed money is a bit tight, which I understand. What you can do is try to reduce the load on it.

Turn down the resources that Windows uses, and set it to best performance under advanced system settings (Instead of letting Windows decide). Also any unused parts in your tower can be disconnected like any PCI modems or the such, and if possible and feasible, until you can get a new PSU you can go into advanced system power management and throttle your CPU a bit, this will reduce some of the load on your PSU.

What I did was since my desktop had two CD-ROM drives, a DVD-ROM, and a CD-R/W, I unplugged my DVD-ROM, since I never used it. I also removed my PCI Modem, since I never used it, and reduced my number of Hard Drives down to one. I had 3 installed, one for Windows, one for my game installs, and one for My Documents. I changed the system so I only used one Hard Drive. I also disabled several optional stuff in the BIOS that consume power, but not all BIOS give you that much customization power, I also underclocked my CPU a bit...I have an AMD CPU and ATI Video Card, Catalyst Control Center has an option to throttle down the speed of your CPU, I set my 2.2Ghz to run at 1.8Ghz, and noticed a big difference on how much power it was using, but the CPU is not as fast when you do this, so gaming will suffer a bit, you will have to experiment to find a setting that is right for you.

@tlarseth: Thats good advice man. I'm doing the same thing. But, as you said, it'll take time. And since I wont be able to buy a new psu anytime soon, I'll have to adjust.

And yeah, my system freezes rarely now. I play a lot, as usual. But it freezes rarely, randomly. Anyway, just to get the best performance out of my card, I'll change my psu, once I make enough cash.

When the time comes, start a new thread for it, and we can give advice on a good one from our experiences.
