Can I increase my monitor's refresh rate?

Hi, I have gone into my advanced settings and determined that the only 1 option there for refresh rate is 60 hertz. Does that mean I can go no higher? Or is there some witchcraft behind this?

that's the maximum your monitor can support, any higher and you will see distortions and vertical tearing, that's why games and graphics drivers come with software to limit the refresh rate, otherwise the screen will be full of distortions while playing.
