VGA vs DVI vs HDMI

Great artical. Wish I would have read this before I spent 15.00 for a dvi to hdmi cable. reason being I'm not streaming audio from my sound card to my video card(right?) so I didn't get anything better than if I just went dvi to dvi with the cable provided. If I comprehended the artical(s) from stormy13 correctly

Yep. One is primary and one is secondary, but can easily be changed once in Windows in either Windows on display properties or your video cards. Don't have it enabled ATM, but that is what I do with my onboard (connected to a 32" LCD TV, and allows me to continue using my other two monitors), as it defaults to being on the right; just open the display properties and it is as easy as just dragging and dropping them in the order you want them.

Pretty much. Probably find it was those aforementioned jokers from Monster that started the whole "HDMI is better than DVI" thing. They have to justify their 500% markup somehow.

Just a heads up that the dvi ports do carry audio on these cards. I run dvi to hdmi cables -i never use or recommend adapters- on both my monitor and TV as neither have a dvi port lol. But like others said you wont notice a difference between dvi or hdmi; vga is another story though

Edit- Also the dvi port closest to the pci-e connector is always port #1 but it don't make a difference. Its an easy way to remember.

How would you get optimal resolution with HDMI and not DVI? Since after all HDMI is just a different way to connect DVI with audio included.

Thanks for the link. Good prices but the shipping to Canada kills it. I found a 6' gold plated cable locally for $14.95, seems reasonable.
