PCI-e 3.0 GPU + MoBo + Ivy CPU = PCI-e 2.0 ???

    Yes I have just seen this on another forum too. I think this is the correct answer.

    So my main concern was based on a faulty assumption about all Ivy bridge CPUs supporting PCI-e Gen3. Well clearly not all of them

    Thank you for helping me sort this out :)

    I will mark this as solved and live with what I get for a while. Maybe then I'll start worrying about my 3D Mark scores being at the minimum limit :)

    As has been said already, don't worry about the difference between 2.0 and 3.0, there is no performance difference right now. The main thing is you know your system is running as it should.
