HDMI vid signal only works in safe mode and not Windows 7
I recently purchased a Bush 42" HD ready LED FS TV with HDMI ports so I could connect my Medion laptop, with HDMI output, to watch HD movies etc and stream Net content to my TV. I set everything up in accordance with both manufacturers recommendations and using the correct HDMI cable. When powering up a signal is automatically detected and I see a display on both TV and laptop screen, but once Windows starts to load the TV screen says "no signal". I have tried all the options in Windows 7 screen resolution menu including projector selection modes but it just will not detect the FS TV screen. However if I go into safe mode the TV display works fine automatically, except of course its a lower resolution and I have no audio as its disabled for some reason in safe mode.
I have read various recommendations on other threads but nothing suited to my issue. It seems to me that basic drivers installed in safe mode do the job fine, but something is happening with Windows 7 when booting up in normal mode and I lose my HDMI output. Why will Windows 7 not detect my HDTV in normal mode?. I could stick with safe mode, except I then dont have the audio!...
TV works fine with all other port inputs like video, Scart, DVD, DTV, ATV. Laptop is only 3 months old, fully 7 updated and secure, no viruses etc. Running Intel Celeron 1.6Ghz, Dolby advanced audio, Intel graphics card, 2 GB RAM, 320 Gb HD. Kaspersky antivirus software.
Is this a software issue with Windows 7, background program conflict, or am I just unlucky to have 2 devices that are not hardware compatible with each other?.
