Have you an alternative graphics card you can try, or is there any chance of trying the graphics card in another system? I suspect that it's the card that's a dud, but we need to eliminate the possibility of it being the motherboard instead of (or as well as) the card. Substitution is the only way of finding out.

Well apparently, the GPU and Mobo worked together, but in a different PC. The main difference between these two PCs (hers and the friends one) was the power supply. After she replaced the psu with a 750W one, the problem remains. Ether the card is dead, or the mobo can't run it...

Sadly I don't have another graphics card or anyone who would let me try the card in another system. I think I'm stuck with the idea of having to go to an electronics store and having them try the card in another system.

A different friend of mine (not the one who gave me the parts) suggested it was the graphics card, as the system must be trying to boot the gpu before everything else, which is why none of the usbs or the leds work.

I would be inclined to agree with your friend, who suggested that it was the card. At least you can run the system without a card and use the built-in graphics, so you're not left without whilst you have the card tested and possibly replaced.

Doesn't look like I'm going to be able to take it in anywhere, the only places around here are like 150 dollars just to look at it. Be cheaper just to buy a new card, but I'm not yet sure if it's the card or the mobo.
