I would get either of the nVidia's. I have an ATI in my wife's puter though ok I think nVidia has better driver support.

nvidia gets hotter, but it is a overall better card

the amd radeon hd 7770 is the best bang for the buck though

Maybe this will help you decide, Passmark High End Video Card rankings. But, I would consider the 660TI.

    660ti - worth the extra.

The 600 ti beats the 7770, hands down.

What resolution will you be playing at and how large/what brand is your Power Supply?

as a stupidly stupid gpu nerd i am i have coloured (spelt correctly ) them accordingly:

Red = not good for anything other than 2D gaming or video editing.

the 7570 is an entry level card

Yellow = this is a step up from entry level known as "budget gaming cards" basically you should be able to play most modern games at medium to high levels at 1080p

The 7770 is a great little card (not little xD) I use it myself for Battlefield 3 (ultra setttings at 1080p) and it can throw out 40+ fps!!! even with my poor cpu!

the 640 in terms of performance is round about on par with the 7770 and the 7750 (slightly slower than the 7770 and is single slot)

green = the best "budget gaming cards" before you get to the mid range-high end level.

the 650 TI, and 660 TI both outperform the 7770 and in my country the 650 cost less!

The 660 TI performs excellent in the 1440p range but is actually more expensive than the 650. according tho the prices though you might want to get a 670 for near the price but has more performance.

bear in mind all cards except the 7570 will take up 2 slots on your motherboard.

conclusion? if your budget stretches to the 660ti you are certainly future proofing yourself until the next generation. if you wont find yourself playing other games other than simulation... (call of duty, crysis 3, etc etc. the 7770 sits in the middle with the 640. i would recommend the 7770 over the 640 (not bias) as it has more bang for the same buck! hope i helped
