Connecting Laptop to TV using HDMI? Settings wrong.. how to fix?

Hi.

I have a Sony Bravia TV model number something like BF or something.

Um.

My laptop and tv both have hdmi ports. I know my TV has an input HDMI and laptop has output.

The hdmi cable I got bundled with my PS3 and the cable does work.

So I just connected my hdmi cable right clicked and went into Graphics options and clicked into Input "something". I clicked on Digital TV thinking "Oh that's it!"

Anyway it didn't work and now whenever I plug in the HDMI cable it just goes and connects (well tries to) to the "Digital Television" that I don't have.

Any help here?

(Oh I didn't quite know where to put this ( "When do I ever?" ) so please bare with me.)
