Windows 7 doesn't recognize second monitor.

    That's the one I was talking about. Using 1 VGA and 1 HDMI should work if your onboard video supports multiple monitors. Not all do even when they have multiple connectors. You'd have to read the fine print in the motherboard manual to be sure.

    Second monitor is working now with HDMI>DVI cable. Thanks again for the help.
