    which driver

Hi, I just downloaded some windows updates and stupidly let windows update my nvidia gts250 graphics card. I now have 5 drivers showing in revo. Nvidia states the latest driver to suit my card is 310.70? Im using win7 HP 32bit

Which of these do I need, and should I junk the lot and start again?

Hello ripper I am no expert but it looks to me as if you have four drivers the middle one looks like a controller. If it wee me I would download the latest see what happens and then junk the others one at a time . But make a back up first.

I have a GTS 250 so I would junk the lot and download "310.70-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-32bit-english-whql.exe" from Nvidia's website. This is the only file you'll need. I'm using 64bit but I'm sure 32bit will be the same if not let us know.

It's a lot smaller than all those packages what site is that pic from?

When you run it it will extract to a temp folder that can be deleted after installation or left for quicker reinstall if ever required.

After extraction it should automatically run the setup.exe file if not it can be found in "C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\310.70\Win8_WinVista_Win7_32\English" or similar unless you changed the extraction path which it would be in your chosen folder.

Agree and Continue on the License Agreement then if you choose Custom Install you will be listed with items similar to the pic in your opening post except the versions. Every version in your pic is outdated and all the programs/drivers are included in this one package.

    Checkmark the Graphic driver obviously
I would recommend the PhysX System Software

Nvidia update is up to you. I did find this hard to remove once during an update and have not installed it since as I don't game and check for updates when I can be bothered.

The 2 3D components are optional they are for use with 3D gaming.

The Nvidia Control Panel is not listed but will be installed and gives you access to change a range of settings for your graphics.

Hum Duzzy I find those hard to remove apps drivers whatever a bit easier with Revo and when it cannot do the job I use the regedit for the Softwares in HKEY_CURRENT_USER and _LOCAL_MACHINE

Yes I junked the lot except for the control panel, and installed the driver you referred to. It offers to install Physx, and 2 other 3d drivers which I didnt do, so all ive got is control panel and 1 driver. Cant fault it

Yes I deleted the file it extracted to, but Ive got the downloaded driver file if needed.

Yes thats where it extracted to before install

Revo must basically read each package as an individual package. I don't even uninstall my Nvidia driver any more I just install the lastest over the top which uninstalls the previous files itself before installing the new ones. I havn't noticed any problems but not to say you or others won't.

I did a double check on how out of date the drivers in your pic were, if they were what was currently installed then they weren't out of date long although I'm not sure of the dates in your pic but the 306.97 driver was a few months old and the lastest was only released on the 17/12/12 only 5 or six days before your post. I'm slow at updating my Nvidia driver I only downloaded 306.97 on the 16th a day before the new one was released so this time, thanks to your post, Iv'e got it only a few days after release.

Anyways, from your last post it sounds like you understand everything I tried to explain so I'm happy that you have it sorted and glad to have helped.

It wasn't that big of a problem, after a couple of attempts I just downloaded Driver Sweeper and ran that in safe mode rebooted and it installed fine. It was just a pain having to boot to safe mode.

As for other junk/reg entries, I don't uninstall a lot and just do a fresh reinstall whenever the system starts to get really bad so I've never used Revo or any other similar software.

No Duzzy I don't have to do a lot of uninstalling either I just find stuff like that ratbag AVG search bar (if it slips under the radar) and some of those bloat games that are hidden away such a pain to get rid of and the HKEY fix is real good for those and I don't know if you have noticed but even when you un install Norton the Symantec refs are still in the HKEY (Software) lists they are another target of mine.

Most of that is when I do fixes for my workmates and like I said my own stuff is not a problem. But I shall have to try that Drive Sweeper you mentioned:)
