New graphics card causes fuzzy windows 7 experience

Hello, I have a computer I built myself a few years ago. I recently installed a new graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE). Everything works perfectly, but everything looks a little bit fuzzy. It's not a big deal, but I would like it fixed. I have tried ClearType, and unchecking "Smoothe edges of screen fonts". I also tried updating the driver, but nothing works. An interesting detail is that during the installation of the driver, everything clears up, but then it reverts. What is going on? Thanks!

Hello and welcome to Seven Forums.

What size and resolution monitor do you have? And have you correctly set the resolution in windows, it could also be the refresh rate, make sure that is set to 60.

Thank you for your reply. I have an HP f1703 monitor, set to 1280 X 1024 resolution. The refresh rate is 60. The funny thing is, when I came back to my computer after a few hours to check for a reply, it isn't fuzzy anymore. I'm not sure what happened. I don't know if it will stay however, so any solution would still be appreciated. Thanks!

Might want to try backing the resolution down to 1024x768 as according to the link you posted that is the max and recommended resolution for that monitor.

This is very strange. I tried that, and I must have given you a bad link. The recommended resolution according to Windows is 1280 X 1024. That is what it used to be set to anyway. But when I went back to that from your suggestion, everything is fuzzy again.

EDIT: It seems to be just random. Sometimes it's fuzzy, sometimes it's not. This is very strange.

Does seem a little strange, so I assume after switching to 1024x768 you switched back to 1280x1024. Was it still fuzzy? Was the refresh rate still at 60 if it was fuzzy?

Normally if things are a little fuzzy its down to the refresh rate being wrong.

How is the monitor connected to the graphics? VGA or DVI? And I assume that you have the lead tightened up both ends.

I did switch back to 1280x1024 after the other resolution didn't work. The refresh rate never changed to my knowledge. Both ends of the cable are tight, and it is a VGA connection. It just seems to go fuzzy and back randomly. There appears to be no pattern here.
