Cannot get proper resolution anymore 1920x1200

I have a SOYO Topaz S. For the first year(yes year) this monitor worked perfectly and had no problems and I had 1920x1200. Now I am stuck at 1600x1200 with no higher resolution. I've tried everything I could do from reinstalling graphics and monitor drivers to unplugging and rebooting and editing the registry. I don't know what to do now. The LCD monitor appears as a CRT in the ATI Catalyst Control Center. I tried several things and nothing worked. In Linux the monitor appears as unknown and i cannot select a resolution higher then 1024x768 but i could use XrandR to get my full res.

Sometimes changing the refresh rate will help. What is the current refresh rate?

Can you remember anything you did just before the problem started? Did you install any windows updates or new software?

To me it sounds like a driver issue, but you say you have reinstalled graphics drivers. Did you install the latest drivers from the AMD website?

I cannot get the refresh rate higher then 60. Which is guess is fine. I don't know what happened before this problem because it belongs to my brother. And of course I got the latest drivers from AMD.

I had a similar problem, go to the catalyst control center, and force the old resolution.

If that does not help, I recommend you reinstall AMD's drivers again, and read carefully about what you are actually installing.

Yes. I used driversweeper to remove it completely.

Make sure in this window the display resolution is set to the highest the monitor can show:
