Is There A 'Intel HD4000' Independant Graphics Card

Is the HD4000 Avaiable as an independand graphics card or just as intergrated. Also. What is the independant graphics card equivalent to it?

If I'm not mistaken, the intel HD series is an integrated graphics setup.

ALL Intel graphics are integrated. They haven't had a card for years. Last one was the i740, back in the late '80s early '90s. Look at nvidia or AMD/ATI for graphics cards.

The Intel HD4000, as previously stated, is an integrated GPU on the chip. It is just fine for watching a movie or surfing the net. For gaming, it does not have what it takes at all. I used mine once just to see. It did well just surfing and watching something like you tube. But, I loaded BF3 and it crashed every time, during loading. Based on my experience, I would not even think about gaming with one, although some say it is OK. Mine wouldn't even load BF3, much less play it.

I still currently use my HD4000 graphics and I can tell you exactly what it will play: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 @ 1080p Max settings, Diablo III @ 1080p Max settings(not saying much, but it does it) and Dishonored @ 1080p Max settings. I can also tell you that it will score a 6.5-6.7 on WEI depending on how much you OC it. Mine currently is 6.6/6.6. I don't know what it won't play yet, but I can tell you it struggles and dips below 30fps in a few spots while playing Dishonored. Remember, all of these games are being played at 1080p and Max settings just fine, if it didn't play them, I would already have a dedicated video card in here.

I should have prefaced this by saying while the HD4000 graphics surprised the hell out of me, I am running a 3570K with a decent OC.......so that will play a role in some games that are CPU intensive. And as always, YMMV.

Pedroc, I'm not sure. Kbrady said he got a 6.6 with an overclock. I have a 5770 that will get a 7.4 with no overclock. So, my guess would be something in the low 5000 or 6000 series.
