I certainly don't want to say 100% yes this will solve this issue, from this digging around on the issue with your card and dual monitors I did yesterday it certainly points to this.

I don't know how much a cable is where you live, here they are relatively inexpensive. If it was me I would try it, but it's not me and I would hate for you to waste your money. So really it's up to you if you want to try it.

You got a signal on the monitor yesterday so it shows the monitor does work which obviously is a good thing.

Regards

Paul.

Yes me and paul agree that the dvi cable is the way forward and if it doesnt work... It is still good to have a cable of each in a house just in case

Alright, can I get a link to an image of the DVI cable you guys are talking about? I've seen about 2-3 different ones online, not sure which one I would need for this?

It's really not very clear anywhere as to which one you want, I think the first thing you want to do is have a look at both the DVI connection on the back of the monitor and also on the back of the GPU, you need to be sure they look identical. Assuming they are I am pretty certain it will be a 24 pin DVI-D cable like this one - 2M DVI-D Monitor Cable, Black, 2 Metre, DVI Dual Link: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

Hi Jason
If your ATI card is the same as most others with 2 x DVI-I outputs?
The top output will be DVI and the second output is DVI-D (Dual link) Digital Visual Interface - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
What this means is that only the top (1st) output is capable of transmitting a Analogue signal(VGA) aswell as a digital signal.
The second output will only transmit a digital signal.
So the only way to run 2 x monitors is either 2 x digital(DVI) monitors connected to the 2 x DVI outputs.
Or
1x Analogue(VGA) monitor connected to the 1st output with a DVI to VGA adapter and 1x Digital(DVI) monitor connected to the second output via a DVI cable.
Hope this helps clarify things for you a bit.

@Paul- I looked at the DVI port on the second monitor, and it is one I do not recognize. I have included a pic (although very blurry) to show you what I'm talking about. As you can see, there are 2 vertical slits right next to the horizontal one. I cannot identify that DVI connector, even with the help of this picure:

The DVI-D cable you sent me a link of is indeed the correct one for my graphics card, but not the same for the one on the monitor.

@ganjiry- I am not too sure what you mean. The back of my graphics card does not have 2 DVI outputs, only one. It is a DVI-D output. The other two connectors on the back of the card is an HDMI one, and a VGA.

I would disregard the 2 vertical slits, I am not sure what they are for, but I don't believe they are needed, so the cable I linked to will still fit and use all the other holes which are the important ones.
