Tested intergrated graphics: Now I can't utilize my GPU.

I wanted to test the intergrated graphics power and compare it to my 7950. So I plugged my HDMI cord from my dedicated card into the motherboard itsself. I shut down my computer and left for a couple hours. I come back wanting to play some games, so I plug the HDMI cord back into the GPU and it does not work. There is no option to turn intergrated video off in the BIOs. And when I went to devices all was there was HD 4000. The funny thing is that my GPU is still on, yet win7 doesn't seem to recognize it. Worst case scenario I'm going to have to reinstall Win7. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. I have also tried to install AMD drivers to no avail.

Tl:dr GPU won't work because Intergrated graphics has taken over.

I had a very similar problem when I just got a new 7970 the other day. I was using intergrated graphics before installing it.

I fitted it and it powered up but would not give out a signal to the monitor and was not recognised in windows.

I did a little searching on the web and someone suggested resetting the bios (clearing the CMOS) of the motherboard.

I did it and it worked first time. I put all my settings back to how I wanted them in the bios and its worked perfect since.
