Screen flickers at highest resolution upon wake-up

    Hello everyone.

I have had this problem intermittently ever since I got this computer three years ago. It seems whenever I use my undocked laptop, and then dock it and use my external 1920x1080 monitor, it flickers quite a bit. The only solutions thus far have been to 1) reduce the resolution 2) restart 3) make sure my laptop isn't asleep when I dock it, as the problem seems to only happen when it is undocked, put on sleep, and then woken up. These are all obnoxious solutions, so I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas?!

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi there,

Have you tried changing your refresh rate in your display settings?

I have not. But I don't really know what that does. I am also unsure why the current refresh rate works at one particular time but then does not work another time......

Update: just tried 50Hz, 59Hz, 60Hz. Nothing really changed
