Enough for the next gen gaming for 3+ years?

Is my config ready for the next generation of games?

    CPU : AMD FX 6300 @ 4.02Ghz
    GPU : Nvidia GTX 260
    RAM : 8 GB Ram
    PSU : 700 W
    HDD : 500 GB
    OS: Windows 64bit

I like to play my games at 1080p @ 60fps

can i max them out ?

I'm thinking about upgrading my gpu.. my budget is £170.. I've been looking at both the 560ti with 1gb and the 660(non ti) with 2gb vram. (Not a big fan of AMD GPU's anymore).

I play games like Batman: Arkham City, Metro 2033, Battlefield 3, Crysis 1&2, Stalker, ArmaII, Skyrim, Sleeping Dogs, Farcry 3, Hitman Absolution, Planetside 2, Also would like to play future games like Watch Dogs, Crysis 3, Battlefield 4, Next gen Call of duty ect..

Can you currently play those games @ 1080p maxed out? I would think your graphics card would not allow that. I don't know about those other games you listed, but Crysis 3 is suppose to be a beast and really tax systems. I doubt your video card will actually play new games @ 1080p maxed out right now, so it's a safe bet to say it won't play future games. For that kind of money, you can just about get a 660Ti like this one........... EVGA GTX 660 Ti

You could also save up about 10-15 more pounds and get a top of the line 660Ti which has 3gb of RAM and is factory Overclocked! EVGA GTX 660Ti Superclocked The price with rebate is $289.99, and you can probably find it somewhere in the UK that has a rebate as well.

To sum up, skip the 560Ti as it's older technology.....skip the 660 as you can get a 660Ti for a few pounds more, and the 660Ti IS a better performer.

Here in the uk the 660Ti is like £60 more than the non ti version and i been told its not really worth the money to spend the extra on the ti version because it will only give me 10% extra performance in games and is too much and should be cheaper.

Some of the games i can.. for example Crysis runs @1080p DX10 All settings maxed No AA @ 60fps, then there's Metro 2033 i run that at 720p DX10 All settings maxed No AA @ 45fps diffrent in each game.. I also play 64 players on Battlefield 3 I have that @ 1080p but have the settings both medium and high to get smooth play, No AA around 40-50 fps.

Ok, I checked Amazon.co.uk and the cheapest 660 Ti I found was £205 .......the 660 is definitely right around your budget. I think the 660 Ti is probably more than 10% faster than the regular 660 but maybe not enough to warrant the extra cash. The GTX 660 will be a great card for you.

Think i will go for the 660 non-ti at the moment my gpu is the bottleneck and I can spend the extra cash on a SSD Thanks :)

Read this, maybe it will help you make your decision. I agree with what Kbrady said. I have a GTX670 SC 4GB, and I think the 660TI 3GB is the best value for the money available right now.

I have just ordered a 660 ti made by gigabyte for my new build, it has a slightly faster clock than some of the other cards in the 660 range.

I may be wrong, but I believe it is not rated at which is better, it is rated price/performance. But, personally, I disagree with them on several cards and the posted scores.

The 3gb 660Ti is a good buy @ $289, but if the GTX 670 comes down a few more bucks, it will be the card to buy in my opinion.
