How do i put two external monitors on my laptop?

For a total of three including the laptop screen. My laptop is a Dell E5420 with a VGA out on one side, and a HDMI on the other. I can also put it in a docking station and have a DVI connection there. I believe I have the hardware, but do not know what to do.
    Pleaase help.

You may have the connections, but I think you are limited to what the onboard video chip can process & output simultaneously.

What DocBrown said. Just having that many connectors is not enough. The video card has to also support a 3 monitor setup. Having that many different connectors may just be a convenience type of deal. Have you tried connecting two external monitors and are they all detected? If you only ever see 2 monitors on the screen resolution window and what you see is mirrored on both monitors, it likely you only have support for 2 monitors max.
