My monitor suddenly doesn't let me have the old resolution

Hello everyone, suddenly i can't use the old monitor resolution. I was using 1440 x 900, now it doesn't let me anymore; when i 'forced it' from nvidia control panel it appeard with two black bars on the sides and foggy text. I think is a problem with the monitor recognition, because it doesn't appear my name monitor, it appears Generic Non-PnP Monitor.
I mention that i already reinstall the windows and graphics driver.

Monitor: Acer x193w
Graphics card: Msi GeForce GT630 2048MB DDR3 PCI-E

Check your video cable and make sure its firmly connected at both ends. if you have a spare cable handy swap it out. You may also want to go into your monitor settings and reset it to defaults.

Well if you did everything I posted and reinstalled Windows and drivers, I don't know what else to try? If the monitor works on OK on another PC you know its something to do with the PC setup. If it doesn't then its a video cable or monitor problem.

How to change the monitor resolution to a custom resolution
Hi all, So I'm creating a program for a friend but we are having trouble trying to display things in a 1280 x 1024 resolution. Is there any way to create a custom resolution on my laptop or monitor of 1280 x 1024? Our monitors don't have this resolution listed in the display settings, or is...

My Asus monitor suddenly doesn't recognise its highest resolution
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask about this, but I'll try. Yesterday everything was working fine with my Asus VE228T that I use as the main display on my left (and my laptop screen works as the secondary screen on the right). The resolution is 1920 x 1080. This morning things...

Screen resolution suddenly limited to 1024x768 and under
So today when I booted up this computer the screen resolution had suddenly changed to 1024x768. When I went to change it back (my monitor is about 20 inches in size, so that resolution looks really bad) I found that I couldn't get a resolution higher than that, and the only other resolution...

Monitor resolution, opinions on new monitor/tv
Recently built a desktop that uses a HD6870 card; a friend donated an old Aquos tv/monitor. Highest resolution available seems to be very low, 1366 x 768 - looks like a laptop resolution? Using the VGA adaptor connection btw. Also got a PS3 hooked up; currently I use the component cables since...

Dual Monitor (Monitor+HDTV) Setup, HDTV Resolution Problem
I apologize if this issue has been brought up before, I tried searching but it's tough trying to find stuff sometimes. But here's the problem, like the subject says I have a dual monitor setup. I can move windows media center to my 40" HDTV from my 26" LCD Monitor and it's fine. I can play...

Graphic Card Resolution > Monitor Resolution
Native Resolution for my monitor is 1366 x 768. It's a 32 inch computer monitor. The reason for buying bigger screen for the computer is so that I can have more desktop display area so that I don't have to scroll horizontally to have a clear helicopter view of my subject. Only then I was made to...
