forced docked PC to boot at correct res

    Hey guys,

I have a HP Pavillion dv6500 docked into a docking station allowig me to use an external monitor. All works fine apart from on boot, the external screen will come on at the resolution of the laptops LCD rather than the max res of the screen. Simply opening and closing the laptop lid rectifies this problem. Is there a way to solve this that would not hamper the laptop when it was not docked

    cheers

Maybe some else has, but I've not found a "solution" to this same problem. When my laptop is "open", the attached flat panel defaults to the same resolution as the laptop; when the laptop is "closed" it jumps back to full resolution. Merely opening the laptop causes the resolution to reset.

Yep looks like an identical predicament..

    Hmmmmmm

Maybe there is some way to write a command or something that forces the computer to acknowledge a ACPI lid open, wait, and ACPI lid close which would make the screen correct, but then this might make the computer faulty when it is not docked...

Lets see if anyone else knows
