Dual display problem
I've connected to my Ati Radeon HD 9650 graphics card two displays and this is the problem:
Display 1 (VGA) is connected to a Dual-link DVI-I port (port 5) with an VGA adapter. Everything works perfectly well.
Display 2 (TFT) is connected to a Single-link DVI-D port (port 1) directly with a DVI cable. This connection causes the problem:
- When turning the power on both displays show the motherboard's logo and then the 'Starting Windows' animation. After that display 2 goes blank.
- When opening BIOS (before Windows starts) both displays are showing the BIOS and not going blank (until when switched back to Windows).
How is this possible? First both displays are functioning normally and then not.
My Windows 7 and graphic card's Control Center both do not detect the second monitor --> there is no option in Display Menu for "Enable Extended Desktop" or something similar which would be the normal procedure (worked with my old Radeon 9800 & Win XP combination). The second display can not be detected/enabled automatically nor by manually forcing.
NB: and before you ask: no, there is no display port in motherboard. All display ports (2xDVI, 2xminiDisplay, 1xHDMI) are on graphics card.
