Multiple Graphic Cards, Still freezes and Crashes Asus CM6830

I bought two identical Asus computers for my business and both seem to dislike graphic cards. The computers will ramdomly freeze (dead keyboard and mouse) and some times shut down. No BSOD. The problem seems to go away when I remove the graphics card and run the on-board VGA device. I've tried wired mouse and USB with no differece.

I've tried formating the hard drive and re-intalling a clean windows7 Ulimate with no change.
I've updated the bios several times, and updated all the dirvers. The unit came with a ATI HD6450 (fan) and I switched it out to a Asus Geforce GT530, and then a GT520, and none of them worked.

Seems to be my solution but I can't get anything to adjust using the Asus bios manager. Asus has a AI manager that will not work after downloading and the bios numbers seem to be displayed only. I can't adjust anything.

I sent one unit back to Bestbuy and they didn't have a clue, and then back to Asus they said it was the Graphics card, installed a new one without testing it and sent it back. Still freezes. The problem seems to be getting worse the more cards I try. I assume the un-used drivers are not helping.

Have you updated the current drivers?

No... You need to uninstall Ati Drivers, and install Nvidia ones. Else you will have issues like these.
Best buy is too dumb to see the difference between AMD and Nvidia.

Yes, all the drivers pass as the best available. Since my original post I have updated by specs, d/l specy and CPU/z, as suggested in many threads, however I can't seem to find a good free driver sweep app. I removed the AMD program but it still shows up in the program list.

I am currently using the computers at work, so the only way for me to get anything done is to remove any graphics card and use the on board VGA. With no card, everything works fine, well, no keyboard/mouse freeze or shut downs but there seems to be a delay in keyboard response as some times I look up to see something like thiiiiiiis, or ths. If I type slower, it's fine but a bit annoying.

I don't run games so a video card isn't absolutey necessary but I do use photoshop a lot and I would like all the colors and resolution to be the best it can be. The only way for me to do any real testing is to re-install one of the graphics cards and deal with freezing and crashing while I run diagnositics. That isn't the easiest thing to do when you need your computer. Nor is running cylce tests for hours or days but I want to find out what is wrong. Next up, a GT 545 card.

Well, I removed all the previous Graphic drivers and folders, installed the GT 545 and used the Nvidia site for a new clean install. Left the computer go over night with Google chrome open. Came in this morning and the keyboard and mouse were frozen. The only way to get out of this is to do a hard re-boot because the key board will not response to the c/alt/del.

Checking the event log, I see a few sequence errors that windows says I can egnor but the computer is shutting down and restarting about every three hours. What happens is the mouse & key board freeze and if you don't re-boot after a while it will re-boot all by itself. Remove the video card and problem goes away. It is clearly something to do with the video card but I can't figure it out. The second computer (identical) uses a card with two DVI ports (don't know exact model) and this unit doesn't have the problem. She says she has an occasional random shut down but I think that's because I still have the factory 300w PS in there. I am going to upgrade that PC to the same Antek 450 w.

I am out of options, I believe I have tried everything I can. I can pull the GT 545 and it works fine in VGA. it even works better with the Vcard in between freezes and crashes. Maybe there is something wrong with the card holder like a bad solder pin to the mother board? I don't know....If anyone has anything to try or check I would be happy to do so

A factory 300w PSU isn't going to cut it with that card dude. The card alone uses 105 watts and factory PSU's are POS so going with the Antek 450w is a no brainer here and should solve the problem.

Hi DeWitts, are both the units on the same power line? Is surge protection applied on each computer? I am just wondering out of the box, since something seems to be effecting both units.

They are on same circuit breaker but so are other computers. Each one has a surge protector.

I am so bumbed out....My PC froze/crashed/rebooted almost every three hours this weekend just idling when using the GT545. I pulled out the card and it seems to run ok. Except my windows experience rating for video is 1.

With all the input and advise I'm getting here it seems like this is just my personal blog. Anyway I discovered by accident that my motherboard I7-3770 Ivy bridge supports Intel HD Graphics 4000. I was so excited that I might have high resolution screens I switched to the internal HDMI connection, updated the graphic drivers, and the screen looks great. Then it froze again and it would freeze, requiring a manual boot, about every two hours. The only difference with the Intel versus the PCIe cards is the screen becomes pixelated. If I switch back to standard VGA, it works without any problems.
Anyone out there???
