Radeon HD 2400PRO vs Radeon 2600 PRO

Would the 2400 Pro work perfect for playing youtube and doing ENC mapping as in OpenCPN?

I know the 2600 Pro is better.

Consider that this will be for an older AGP Intel server MB with 2.8ghz pentium CPU.
Currently it has an x1300 and it sometimes has issues with video performance.
at what point would it be not worth getting the better video card?

The pixels per clock is that a very significant measurement of performance vs gigabits per second?
    Which has the greater weighting?

Assuming that you could actually find an AGP version of the 2600, I would buy that one. It has double the data bus width of the 2400 Pro and a faster GPU clock. It also has double the GB/s due to the double data width. If I'm not mistaken, that's a good indicator of the card's performance when doing a comparison.

More data throughput = better performance.

The only problem that I can see you having is actually finding an AGP version of that card. It's probably been out of production for years, as PCIe took over the graphics standard years ago.
