Best suitable graphics card update for my computer

    Hi Guys,

I would like to upgrade my graphics card (mainly to play majority of the games(nothing specific))

    This is my current configuration

    Intel core2 quad Q6600 @2.40Ghz
    Intel DG33FBC motherboard DDR2 RAM 8GB(2GB*4) @ 800Mhz
    Seagate 400GB SATA HDD
    GeForce 7300 SE/7200 GS 256mb graphics card

I guess those details are sufficient.. Please suggest me the best graphics card for this configuration along with some options would be nice and please explain to me on what basis a graphics card needs to be selected(like processor or motherboard or both)..Thanks in advance :)

karlog22, you should list your psu also. Here is a link to compare cards and review requirements for them

    and another comparison link

This guide from Tom's hardware would be a good read for you too

Plan on buying a new power supply with any video card you decide on. The stock power supplies these days aren't going to cut it.

I would go with getting a better psu first, probably a seasonic or corsair 550- 650 watt. Your cpu is older but is still decent. I would go with either a 650 ti, or a 660. Not top of the line, but you should see a good boost in gaming performance. OCing that Q6600 would help too!!
