What application is being used for videos?

I would try VLC found at videolan.org and see if it runs fine or not, it's advantage is built in codecs and free, and pretty well regarded.

This will help rule out the application being used since you said the 2nd monitor still functions and doesn't go ART screen on ya at same time.

You monitoring your video card temps?
If spiking high for the range of that card, check fan(s) or paste.
Download GPU-Z from cpuid.com and snag CPU-Z too to check CPU temps.

You overclocked on that video card at all?
Check voltage on it as well, if out of range of normal, card might be failing.

If it still does it, try running both monitors directly from the motherboard ( removing the video card ) if possible.

Does XFX have a lifetime warranty for that card ?

Does this happen regardless of the file type being played, ie; the extension.
Indeed the name of the player would help to identify the problem.

    What browser?

    Always happening with FLASH videos?

Visit adobe.com and get the latest flash player and reinstall even if it claims you have it already.

    Scan for viruses lately?

Any new addons or helpers (IE) running now with the browser in question when this started?

Give more details up front as much as you've got, just delays getting helped.

Run dxdiag.exe and see if that tells you of any problems.
