Blu-ray player sometimes says I'm not HDCP when I think I'am

I have Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 and I use it to play my Blu-rays on my computer. But sometimes, when I leave it paused for at least 10 minutes, an error pops up suggesting that I should check if I can play Blu-rays. So I did the thing, and it says green on all checks except for the one saying that I'am not HDCP compatible. I didn't know what that meant, I thought it was if my screen can go up to 1920x1080 (which it can because it is), but I think it has to do with either copyright or (more on the mark) the graphics. I think I'am HDCP compatible, and this is just an error just because it was paused for 10 minutes, but let's be sure. I have Intel graphics media accelerator, and it seems to be working (it was said on the site that it can work, which makes this even weirder). So what could cause this error to pop up? Any ideas to make sure it doesn't happen again?

There was an update I can do, but when I tried it, it was aborted because the software needed a HL-DT-ST,SATA HL-DT-ST device. ?

Hi there ... That would be for your Blu-Ray Player ... As that Device seems to be working pretty well .. I cannot suggest updating the Driver ... I have seen many Blu Ray players that have major problems .. I suggest you contact Cyberlink support ... Or maybe another Member here might be able to help you .. If its just the pause i don't see that as a major problem annoying as it may be

Yeah, it looks like when I tried to update it, it also uninstalled the player. So I reinstalled it using the same thing I dl-ed to update it, and while it was reinstalled, it now doesn't work. ??? All it does now is flash for a few seconds a dark green small box in the center of where the movie would be, but doesn't play. It's also caused the sound of an audio file I was playing to skip until I stopped the player.

I'll see about reinstalling it again using whatever I had when I got it, but maybe there's something better? IDK. I think there is a way to fix this, but what exactly?

Hi there ... The link below should help .... I only see a Sata Driver there ... Which might be the right one ... But i suggest checking the User Guide which is on the page ... If in doubt download Hardware Vendor Detection ... Which is at the top of the page

Glad its sorted .... Now you understand Updating Drivers is not always the best policy .. No fix needed if it is not broke ..

I haven't leaped on a blu-ray PC player yet, since I have a HDTV with a BR player next to me.

HDCP? yuck, I'd be looking for an open source B-R player then with none of that nonsense.

I just looked and found this info, interesting:

Free Open-Source Blu-Ray Player For Windows 7 (Not For AACS, BD+)

Without beating two B-R protection schemes I was unaware of, a B-R player on PC/Mac would be very limited.

Bummer when options are limited and you wind up with incompetent software?

I guess I will stick with my offline B-R rig.
