    Problem with screen resolution

    Hi

I have just had to do a clean install of Windows 7 after a disastrous couple of weeks using Windows 8.

My problem now is that I have used the recommended screen resolution, but no matter what I do, square images just are not square, they are elongated.

Can anyone help me get my square images back?

    Many thanks.

Try and find the Video card drivers you used before for windows 7, or download the newest ones of what ever website you will need the graphics card drivers so if you are with AMD or Nvidia.

    Hi Andrew

Many thanks for your suggestion. I will try them out a bit later. I've tried searching for my old driver, but Win 8 seems to have deleted a load of files when I tried to back them up. Some folders I backed up, had all the saved files deleted. I am not a happy bunny - never had anything like this happen before!

    Hi Andrew,

I updated the Nvidia driver, but it has made no difference, so don't know if you have any other suggestions?

Yes it does. Bit like the earth, flat at the top and bottom. Does that help?

You might try fiddling with different settings.

SORTED!!! Thanks for your help folks. I downloaded an ATI_Radeon update from Packard Bell at ftp://ftp.download.packardbell.com/D.../Driver Vista/ and installed. I know it says Vista. I also found that the NVIDIA PhysX update I downloaded earlier, was installed incorrectly, so ran that again, restarted PC, tried it out and my squares are now square and my circles are no longer oval.

Once again folks, thanks for your help.
