    PC screen shrinking


    My monitor screen is shrinking one-half inch all around --Please help.

    Scaling is probably not set in the driver's software properly, this happened to me on my Radeon HD 7950, scaling in the Catalyst app fixed it, for the particular monitor that was having the issue.

    That's where to look OP, be it Nvidia, Catalyst or Intel for video.

    Hi there ... You have not answered any questions . Or given us any Information can you please go back to my first post and answer the questions .. Also which Graphics Card are you using .. As Faladu has rightly stated this could be a scaling problem or it could be some thing else

    I answered these separately earlier. I'm sorry if I am doing this incorrectly.

    No games
    A search for a graphics card finds nothing. A search for VGA HDMI finds nothing.

    Windows 7 Ultimate

    What's your video situation, use msinfo32.exe (search box) or speccy from piriform.com or gpu-z from cpuid.com to get to the bottom of what's actually in place for your video.

    It's likely scaling, did you look?

    Scaling off is very easy to fix, usually a matter of moving a slider and then clicking apply | OK.

Just got a new laptop (HP 4540s) and I use Acronis Trueimage to make my image backups. I just want to backup the OS and want to shrink that to about 140gb. Can I just shrink and get rid of recovery and tools partitions, so I can make an image of the OS only? Not sure about that tools...

I have a 150 GB VelociRaptor with Win7 and programs installed on it. There is 125 GB of free space on the drive. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to shrinking the drive and having the free space be a separate partition? I don't need the space since I have 5 HDs in this machine.
