Reccomended temp range for GTX 570?
What is the reccomended temperature range for a GTX 570? Will running it at 79C overnight ruin it?

Is it running 79c just on being idle? If so that's a little high for idle temperatures but if that's under load then that seems ok. But you should probably up the fan speed just to be safe, if your getting 80-100 that's a little on the rough side but then again I'm not in expert at this stuff.
For a GPU intensive program 79c seems OK depending on how heavy the program is but you may want to invest in some additional cooling. Nvidia says that 97c is the highest temperature it can reach before shutting down or dying http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desk...specifications. I ramp my fan speeds up to 60 while playing games like crysis 3 on almost maxed settings it may be loud but it keeps the card cool
As already mentioned above by ToxicXGL, 79C is ok if you are running an intensive program. But, in my view it is VERY HIGH. Normal temps should be in the range of 30-35C idol and 50-60C on load.
I would recommend you to go for a good case with lots of ventilation.
My card is around 48C on idol, so that is bad right?
I won't say that 48C is "bad"....but, it is not on safer side. I see that you have Coolermaster 912. I also have the same case. My GPU's idol temp is 37C and on load 60C. I would recommend to install another fan in your case on the transparent side. Extra fans help a lot in reducing heat of GPU, RAM and CPU.
Also, check for dust in your case. If you find dust, clean your case, GPU fans and case fans. Dust is a big reason for high temps.
I don't have a transparent side because we have different cases, but i know what you mean. Should that fan be pushing air in or pushing air out?
79c for under heavy load is fine, my 6870 hits 76-81c when under extreme load and that's in the summer time for me. Winter it hits like 69-74c load. 48c on idle is fine in my opinion especially if you live in a area where it is hot, mines sitting 42c right now and it's summer time, highest idle temp is 46-50 depending how hot it is outside, we get up 101F where i'm from. I think your temps are ok, no if you want better cooling and some more fans then go right ahead.
If i were to add another fan, should it be pushing air in or out? It would be right beside the videocard.
