OK, I didn't know you had tried the video card by itself. So it's not a weird driver/compatibility issue that just popped up. Have you noticed the fan on the card running faster than usual? That may indicate the card has gotten hotter than usual and may have damaged it in some way. Do you have any way of monitoring the temps of your card?

I monitor all temps, no issues, I really think the the 610gt card has simply failed or is defective after 4 months. I'll remove, clean the contacts and reseat. If it's a no-go, I'll replace.

    Thanks for your help.

No problem. Sometimes, a card will just go bad. It might be a capacitor, traces/circuitry or something more difficult to track down. Sorry I couldn't offer any better advice. Keep us posted on this issue.

Sarris, I'd run the attached program to test them both thoroughly, it's the standard one for testing them out:

    Video Memory Stress Test

    Should help eliminate ambiguity.

After a discussion this morning with a second tier Zotac manager in the US, they have agreed to RMA the offending video card.

Seems there were some manufacturing issues...............

    Thanks to all.

Sorry to hear that Sarris, but at least you don't have to pull out your hair trying to figure out what the problem was. Here's hoping for a fast turn-around!
