    Refresh rate issue?

So I'm using the VGA out on my laptop to an external monitor and it seems that the refresh rate is off because I see some flickering in the corners. I checked and the refresh rate is set at 59 Hz and I'm unable to set it to 60 Hz even though it is displayed.

Is this a problem with the GPU, monitor, or VGA cable not able to display 1920x1200? You think that using a HDMI out on laptop -> HDMI cable -> HDMI-to-DVI adapter on the monitor will fix this?

if you're not Nvidia, DirectRefresh locks my refresh rate in place (I posted in that topic, but no sense making you fish it out) RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting

I skimmed the other topic, I believe the only other solution (besides the guy who posted this solution) is setting 60.0001 in the NVidia control panel or something. If you can find another refresh rate locking program, that would likely work too.
