Need Assistance with Gefore 9600M GT

    Hey everyone.
I recently updated my msi GX720 laptop to windows 7 (it was running perfect on vista). After a couple of hiccups I got it running smoothly doing basic operations but was unable to install or run games. I tried to update my drivers for the graphics card, but it only installed a HD audio update. After looking around on my computer I found that it is now running on the Standard AVG graphics adapter, rather than the Geforce 9600M GT that is inside it. Been searching for how to change the graphics card being used, but it cannot detect the Geforce 9600M GT. I've tried forcing it to update to the correct drivers by choosing it through device manager but it just keeps telling me my standard AVG graphics adapter is up to date.
Any help would be appreciated. Details as follows:

Update: Downloaded and installed latest chipset drivers from msi website. Tried running only the display part of the NVIDIA drivers update and it gave the message: The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit.
    Further help very much appreciated.

    Cheers,

another thread where i helped someone with a similar problem, it's most likely a problem with the device descriptor in the NVXX.INF file.

Windows 7 not detecting my GPU.

you need to run dxdiag and attach the saved text file here.
