HDMI not recognised by monitor.
Sorry if this appears really stupid but I dont know much about graphic cards.
I installed a new graphics card EVGA Nvidia Ge Force 610. It has 3 ports DVI. HDMI & VGA.
I have 2 monitors. One is VGA only, and the main monitor is new and supports DVI. HDMI & VGA.
I though probably stupidly, that I could connect my main monitor to the HDMI port and the 2nd monitor to the VGA port and all would work fine.
After installation I decided to try just the main monitor first. I connected to the VGA port, installed the drivers and all is ok. I then changed the settings on the monitor to HDMI, plugged in the HDMI cable but just get a blue screen with a "No HDMI " box showing.
Please could someone tell me how to get the HDMI working.
Also Is this I though probably stupidly, that I could connect my main monitor to the HDMI port and the 2nd monitor to the VGA port and all would work fine.just stupid. Will I still need to use the DVI port with splitter cables to use dual monitors with extended display, as was my current setup.
Is there any way to make use of the HDMI and still have dual monitors. Thank you.
My HDMI cable works OK from laptop to TV. Its a BABZ HC007 BZ10714C high speed HDMItm cable with ethernet E321484
