My first post on here, so hello to everyone!
I have an issue that I really can't solve with my PC - I've trawled the internet for hours and tried several things, but still no avail.
A while ago I bought a 3TB internal hard drive to put all of my movies on etc... I had big issues getting it to work at first, due to the whole issue with partitioning them correctly. After this was done, I still had an issue getting full access to the drive on Windows. After some almost random downloading, I installed a different NVIDIA driver
to what I originally had on my PC - this then allowed me to access the drive no problem.
Yesterday I updated my PC through Windows Update, which had 3 very small updates to the NVIDIA drivers
. Since this was done, I can no longer access any of my files in this drive. The drive still shows up in My Computer, but if I attempt to click into any of the folders on the drive, I get the message 'You need to format the disk in drive B: before you can use it'. Obviously I cancel this action, and am then greeted with 'B:\Movies is not accessible The drive cannot find the sector requested'.
I obviously realised that this had happened due to the update. Hence I attempted a system restore, but it would not let me restore for some reason?
Hence I've tried trawling through the internet and downloading drivers to see if I can get it to work again. No such luck unfortunately.
If I go into device manager, I have a yellow asterix and a Code 31 error next to 'NVIDIA nForce RAID Device'. Is this likely to be causing my problems?
I have tried to download some drivers, but my PC simply won't complete the installation - comes up with a problem of sorts.
My PC is a Compaq 5034UK. It came with Windows Vista, but I've performed a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit.
Please help!! I'm going mad here!!!
Thanks very much - sorry my a long winded first post :-)
