    Upgrading my GPU

    whats up guys?

so im planning on getting a AMD R9 280X this weekend. I play many games all at 1080p and would like my computer to be "Future proof" a little for a few years at least. but anyway, my price point is $300 for a GPU. I was debating between a gtx 760, 280x, or a soon to be released gtx 860. what do u guys think I should do? get the 280x, 760, or wait to the 860? anybody have any info on the 860? like will it be more powerful than the 280x? since the 700 series were rebrands, the 800 series will have to have new architecture. what do you guys think?

I like the 760 because its cheaper and almost all games can be played at max at 1080p.....idk...

I think I will be getting the 280x and be selling by 660 for $140. this way its only $160 out of pocket.

ok I decided on the 280x. which one should I get? the MSI one seems better but runs hotter. it also dosent bend in the case. the gigabyte one, people are complaining that it sags in the card slot. but is also higher clocked

The 780 is not a rebrand, it features a GK110 GPU as opposed to the GK104 the 680 featured.

MSi has a good track record on video cards. It's to early to really offer you good advice.

from what im pulling from the interwebs, gigabyte is better, higher clock (50MHz, lower temps (just barely) MSI looks cooler, slightly smaller in length, runs hotter.

both get within 2fps from each other. gigabyte is ugly! lol
