Upgraded from Vista to 7; Can't get NVidia Control of Geforce Card
I upgraded Vista Business to 7 Home Premium a couple days ago and I am having a problem getting my NVidia Geforce 8800 GT to function properly. Device Manager recognizes the NVidia card, but gives a "code 12" message; NVidia control panel will not come up: "you are not currently using a display attached to a NVidia GPU." ... I have removed the device and removed and reloaded the most up to date driver from NVidia several times, however, what seems to be the Integrated Graphics takes over the card. When the NVidia device is removed I have standard "accelerated" graphics from my on board VGA port, but as soon as the device is installed I loose signal from the integrated port and get integrated graphics (not accelerated) from port 1 of the NVidia (no signal from port 2 of NVidia). I attempted to disable IG by switching to PCI-e in Bios but that seemed to have no discernible effect. As the GeForce card was working perfectly in Vista before the upgrade, I am inclined to believe that I need to adjust something in the new OS. Do you have any suggestions?
