Video card driver doesn't support Aero effects

Aero isn't working and when Troubleshooting didn't work it told me "Video card driver doesn't support Aero effects". I tried using the Aero Activator and that didn't work either. I have a EVGA GeForce GTX 650 graphics card. Please help. Thank you.

Please go to device manager and click on display adapters and tell me what it says.

    The way you get there
(Right click "Computer" icon than click "manage" On the left side choose "device manager" than click "display adapters")

It will show me what drivers you got.

Yes you don't have the right one installed standard VGA graphics driver WILL NOT work with Aero dual monitors and sometimes wont play movies.

Hi clepe. Welcome to Seven forums.

So you installed the drivers for your card and still Aero is not working?

Aero will not work if your color depth is 16 bit. Change the color depth to 32 bit for Aero to function.

go to control panel>display>screen resolution> advanced settings>under adapter tab click on "List all mode"> select the best suited resolution with 32 bit depth.

    Keep us posted.

    Um...that should have worked.

Does it still say standard VGA adapter or does it say GeForce GTX 650.

Aero WILL NOT WORK with standard VGA adapter, so that made sense when you told me it said that.

If it says GeForce GTX 650 than Aero should work.

Please tell me again what driver is installed via device manager. Im thinking you must not have the new drivers installed properly.

    Thanks

It says that I now have the NVIDA Geforce GTX 650 driver and it Aero is still coming up with an error. Trouble shooting still can't find the problem.

The true color is already set to 32-bit.

    Thanks for helping.

After installing the drivers, did you reboot ?

Did you click on 1 of the aero themes, you have to do this to get aero started.

Post a shot of device manager with the display adapter fully expanded.
