Second display not working at all.

I have two identical AOC monitors. I first used a Palit Nvidia GT640 graphics card and also a Radeon HD6450 to no avail.

I've tried the second monitor with the following DVi, DVI-D and HDMI to VGA cables/adapters and nothing.

That's using both the windows right screen resolution option or the propriety Nvidia/AMD to configure the multiple display options.

If someone can help me finally crack it that would be great. :)

If both monitors are using VGA then this is what is happening,

    Second monitor not being detected.

Short of monitors that have more than just VGA or getting a DVI-VGA converter (nothing like the adapters you have been using, and cost a fair bit more), there isn't much you can do.

But I have done in the past which is what is odd. With other custom built machines with these exact monitors it was working. Wasn't straight forward though. If I remember rightly in the past I had to make the second monitor the main one cable wise then extend, then physically switch the monitors on the desk. Weird. Thanks
