Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GS

I have the same video card, one day i turned off my laptop and went to sleep.
The other day when I turned on the laptop (Toshiba Satellite P105-S9337) i noticed it looked a little weird, soon it went black screen and reset itself and there were little squares on the screen aswell. So I boot on safe mode, made a backup and finally switched to Win7 Ultimate, though even running a clean formatted HDD install it did not solve the problem.

Ive tried many drivers on laptopvideo2go.com but whenever i found a driver that installed, and I could read Nvidia GeForce Go 7900GS under Graphic Adapter instead of Standard VGA Adapter in Device Manager and reboot to complete install it would also black screen when it got to the Loading Windows screen.

I´m running hopeless here dunno what else to do, thanks for your help

@jotage welcome to seven forums: You can download the latest 179.48 for 32 bit driver from Nvidia here NVIDIA DRIVERS 179.48 BETA And try and install it. If it won't install correctly. You can modify the .inf file from here NVIDIA MobilityModder - HardwareHeaven.com Just follow the directions to the T. Take your time and you should have a working driver when your through. As you can see as you scroll down the page your card is listed. Also on the Nvidia page on release notes it states what notebooks are NOT supported by this release and yours is NOT listed as one that isn't supported so your good to go.. Fabe

In a last attempt to make stuff work I did a complete clean out of the box install of my winvista 32bit, did not work.

Probably will install win7 again today, not a clean install since i havent done anything to the configs since the winvista reinstall so, I suppose i should go back to the nvidia site and download the 64bit 179.48 beta driver for win7 after im done and then do whats on hardwareheaven?

Also what do you mean by you havent done anything to the configs in vista. If you have not spent much time installing stuff onto vista and customizing it, I would recommend a clean install of Windows 7. (Actually I recommend a clean install regardless of what has been done to the previous OS, but some people would rather upgrade so they can keep their apps/settings)

By that I meant I left it just like it came when I bought it, well doesnt matter much, ended up doing a clean win7 64 install anyway.

Downloading the 179.48 beta win7 64bit driver now and will try the stuff on hardware heaven.

Already tried many drivers from laptopvideo2go.com, none worked. will keep you posted on how it goes with 179.48 and the hardware heaven stuff.

@ TheFabe: Just restarted and got a blackscreen again, was able to boot it on F8 and Last Known Good Config. well, aparently the hardwareheaven thing did not work. guess i should just take it to the authorized people and have the Video Card replaced?

@K3VL4R did you read his post #4? jotage if your under warranty why not let them sorte it out. It's not unheard of getting a faulty card or one that fails quickly. Fabe
