What resolution are you trying to use? It may be that your monitor can't support the resolution and gives the "Input not supported" error. The screen looked out of aspect in your pictures...

Yea, that's how it appears on the monitor. But why am I able to perfectly see an image and get that message?

The maximum resolution on that monitor is 1280 x 1024. Check your video settings to see if your computer is sending that to the monitor. Your monitor is likely trying to tell you that it can't handle the signal that you're feeding it.

As for why you can see a picture, I don't know. Maybe the monitor can force the screen to display but it doesn't like it.

I guess I'll have to stick with 1280x1024. But that still confuses me to why I can still see the image

Don't feel bad. It confuses me, too.
